The Scientific Review Committee, the IRB, & the DSMB

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe the key roles and responsibilities of the Scientific Review Committee, the IRB, and the DSMB in review and oversight of clinical trials.
2. Identify the critical timepoints in the review process for initial and continued committee(s) oversight.
3. Describe common concerns and information needs of the study staff in navigating the committee(s) review process.

Continuing Education (CE): Actual attendance will be documented via emailing kate.vonwahlde@vumc.org during or immediately following the meeting. Following the meeting:
1. SOCRA members who meet the required minimum of 50 minutes of attendance for a one-hour meeting are eligible to receive 1 CEU. The SOCRA Executive Office will email certificates to members.
2. Non SOCRA members can track attendance via VUMC CME website and/or their own CE tracking method.
3. A unique VUMC CME code will be provided during the meetings, the code is valid for 24 hours.
